About Us

UPCG is a 501(c)(3) Organization Recognized, and our Staff is Accredited by the US Department of Justice under 8 CFR § 1292.11 and 8 CFR § 1292.1(a)(4) to provide Immigration Legal Services to low-income immigrants and refugees residing in, East Hartford, Manchester, Hartford Connecticut, and beyond. We represent clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review EOIR (Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals) and DHS ( USCIS, CBP, or ICE).

Every day Immigrants, Needy Children, Immigrant children, and their families go through different kinds of hardship and dilemmas that push them to live under the shadow or in limbo.

It is never the fault of any child who finds him or herself in a strange land as undocumented or an ‘overstayer’ or a child of undocumented parents. However, due to the numerous political and social policies, these innocent ones suffer each day emotionally, physically, and psychologically.

As a Faith-Based Non-Profit organization, Every Immigrant and Every Child Matters to us irrespective of immigration status, race, gender, or religion. We, therefore, serve as the voice and the eye for these immigrant families.

Our Office is Recognized, and our Staff is Fully Accredited by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide Immigration Legal Services to our service users.

In addition, UPCG's Community Projects, including UPCG Immigration Legal Services, are obedient to the Biblical command in Psalm 82:3-4, Prov 31:8-9, and Deut 15:11. (KJV) etc.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:3-4

Open thy mouth for the voiceless in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. {such...: Heb. the sons of destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. Prov 31:8-9

For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land Deut 15:11.

Our Core Values

Welcome
“When I was a stranger, you welcomed me.” Rooted in faith, UPCG believes that we are all strangers on earth and we are called to welcome those fleeing persecution and seeking refuge in the United States. Mathew 25:34-35, 1 Chronicles 29:15, Hebrews 11:13-16, 1Peter 2:11.

Prophetic Witness
Not all are prophets, but all are called to be prophetic witnesses. At UPCG Immigration Legal Services, this means we are committed to speaking out boldly and standing up for the just treatment of those we serve.

Integrity
Driven by a desire to serve vulnerable refugees and migrants, we refuse to compromise our moral, economic, and political integrity as we carry out our mission to that end.

Innovation
Committed to bold action and continuous learning, UPCG Community Projects invites others to join our mission, eager to embrace fresh perspectives and explore new ways to engage in this work of welcome.

Interdependence
UPCG Community Projects depends on a diverse network of community partners, faith-based groups, and private entities to magnify our reach and impact – and they rely on our expertise and leadership.
